Scheduling your CAW week
One of the things I love most about College Application Week is that it's intended to be customizable to each school, site, or community. No two CAW events look exactly the same because no two schools, sites, or communities are exactly the same. But that doesn't mean folks can't learn from each other, swap ideas, and implement successful elements of other sites' good work.
A few days ago, I posted Taft's schedule of events for their CAW week. Today, I'd like to share what Parkrose High School will be doing.
They're hosting their College Application Week November 11-15, so school is closed for Veterans' Day on Monday.
On Tuesday, they'll have a representative from Western Oregon University on campus to offer Instant Wolf, with students applying to WOU and receiving their acceptance notification on the spot.
On Wednesday, they've reserved the library and all 30 computers for College Application Day, in which students will be able to sign up for an appointment during which they'll be able to complete their application to any college to which they're applying.
On Thursday, they'll welcome a representative from Portland State University for Instant Viking sessions.
And on Friday, students will get a head start on their scholarship applications with an OSAC Completion Day.
We'd love to hear what your plans are! Please share them in the comments or over on our Facebook page. College Application Week events are most successful when coordinators can beg, borrow, and steal tips from each other!
